In a few sentences, tell us about yourself and your writing journey?
I’ve been writing since a freshman in high school. I stopped for a while but with the encouragement of my husband, I picked back up. Me picking back up led to me writing not only Lucky Girl but State of Betrayal: Tunnel Vision. I’ve only been published since October of 2025.
What genres do you write in, and why did you choose them?
Although Lucky Girl is urban contemporary, writing urban fiction/street lit IS my hood jam! The State of Betrayal series is an example of how I do in that genre. I love balancing real life street ish but also romance and the depth of human emotions. As much as I love sliding in books, I need some romance as well!
What is the title of your latest book?
State of Betrayal: Blind Devotion
Who would you say this book is perfect for?
For the people who love messy FMCs and unhinged MMCs that’s the one calling shots? This is for you. And we are actually in the streets for real for real.
Give us your book description.
The State of Betrayal series follows two MCs. Xavier (Zay) Stephens comes home to the Ninth Ward in NOLA due to the murder of his homeboy who was like his brother, and his daughter who was Zay’s Goddaughter. His first night in the city he meets the most beautiful woman he had ever seen: Deja Moore. Little did he know, the streets he once ran now belonged to her. This series lives up to its name with betrayal throughout each and every book. We follow the natural flow and character development of two people who are only trying to make it throughout life. They love each other and may even be meant for each other. But with betrayal so thick, is love enough?
Where can people purchase your book?
Available on Amazon and KU!
What advice would you give to new or aspiring authors?
Write whatever you want. Stop watching the word count or worrying about the length. Do not stray from tropes or POVs just because a few people said they didn’t like them. Create your story how you want to.
Is there anything else you would like readers to know?
I would like readers to know two things. 1. I truly create for you. 2. I have a romance prequel to Lucky Girl which is a novella, dropping on 3/17🍀
